Frequently Asked Questions
No. The correct password is required. This tool removes protection from documents you already have access to — it does not break encryption.
It is your call to make for documents you own or are authorised to modify. Do not use it on material you have no right to alter.
Nowhere. It is used in your browser to decrypt the file and then discarded.
Leave the password field empty — owner restrictions can usually be removed without one.
Privacy and security
Your file is read directly from your device and processed in your browser. It is never uploaded to a server, so there is no copy for us to keep, share or lose. Closing the tab discards everything. If you want to check this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use the tool — you will see no request carrying your file or input leave the page.
