Frequently Asked Questions
Most phones record GPS coordinates by default. Anyone with the original file can read the exact spot where it was taken.
Leave the strip option enabled and the tool produces a re-encoded copy that carries none of the original fields.
Most large platforms strip it on upload, but files shared by email, chat or direct download usually keep everything.
The file has already been processed by software that removed the metadata, or it was created without any.
Privacy and security
Your file is read directly from your device and processed in your browser. It is never uploaded to a server, so there is no copy for us to keep, share or lose. Closing the tab discards everything. If you want to check this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use the tool — you will see no request carrying your file or input leave the page.
